this is just a reminder, how to setup the search function in OpenSim.
It is well known, that a grid service can spider your regions for objects marked as " searchable " and store the link in a public searchable database. Afterwards, these objects could be found using the inworld "Search" function.
If you used a Metro version of OpenSim , everything should already be pre-configured. For safety, here are again the lines that must be included in your OpenSim.ini :
index_sims = true
data_exposure = minimum
gridname = "Metropolis Metaversum"
default_snapshot_period = 10000
snapshot_cache_directory = "DataSnapshot"
SearchURL = "http://metropolis.hypergrid.org/search/query.php"
The required DLL files are already delivered with the Metro version of OS.
If the " index_sims " parameter is set to "true" , the local database is searched approximately every 3 hours for new objects. The default value "10000" is the waiting time for the next search (in seconds). This can value can be adjusted.
When set to " minimum" only the objects marked as "search relevant" would be taken. With the value "all" in the poarameter " data_sxposure " all objects would be taken to the search database (which is not recommended ).
Your objects should be visible in the search results after some hours.
Have fun !
