slt

well to be able to go anywhere opensim or not RLV or not with firestorm here is how to install the beast

Simple, you have linux:
in this case download the release you need end unzip in your $HOME (personally I use $HOME/SL to unzip every release I use)

in the directory of the unzip, make a copy of the shell named firestorm under a new name
(for exemple to run separatly firestorm for SL and firestorm for opensim, create by copy firestorm-sl and firestorm-os from the firestorm shell)
edit the new shell created with your favorit editor (nano, gedit, vi ( :-( , ) )
for 32 bit system add on second line
Export FIRESTORM_USER_DIR = "cache location" (don't forget the quote)
for 64 bit system add on second line
Export FIRESTORM_X64_USER_DIR = "cache location" (don't forget the quote)
example
using FS 4.4.2 32 bit for SL
Export FIRESTORM_USER_DIR = "$ {HOME} /. FSSL.4.4.2"
using FS 4.4.2 32 bit for opensim
Export FIRESTORM_USER_DIR = "$ {HOME} /. FSOS.4.4.2"
using FS 4.6.7 32 bit for SL
Export FIRESTORM_USER_DIR = "$ {HOME} /. FSSL.4.6.7"
using FS 4.6.7 32 bit for opensim
Export FIRESTORM_USER_DIR = "$ {HOME} /. FSOS.4.6.7"
using FS 4.6.7 64 bit for SL
Export FIRESTORM_X64_USER_DIR = "$ {HOME} /. FSSL.4.6.7"
using FS 4.6.7 64 bit for SL RLV enable
Export FIRESTORM_X64_USER_DIR = "$ {HOME} /. FSSLRLV.4.6.7"
using FS 4.6.7 64 bit for opensim
Export FIRESTORM_X64_USER_DIR = "$ {HOME} /. FSOS.4.6.7"
using FS 4.6.7 32 bit for opensim
Export FIRESTORM_USER_DIR = "$ {HOME} /. FSOS.4.6.7"
and so on
Finally what you as directory for the name caching and setting
Register and start
by the way this is also available for KOKUA or SINGULARITY but you have to replace FIRESTORM_USER_DIR with SECONDLIFE_USER_DIR because they use the SL naming

For windows iit s a little bit complicated
ie: you want to go on SL only and enjoy the HAVOK physical render engine in this case you properly install version 4.4.2 or 4.5.1 or 4.6.7 (32 or 64 bit release)
ie: you want to go SL and opensim but you give up the rendering engine HAVOK. In this case properly installed you opensim FS 4.4.2 or 4.5.1 or 4.6.7 (32 or 64 bit release)
either you are twisted and have your rirestorm blocks on SL with HAVOL and opensim firestorm without HAVOK in this case the only solution must be separated cahe
installs itself an MSDS for SL 4.4.2 or 4.5.1 and FS 64 bit for opensim 4.4.2 or 4.5.1
64-bit (if your system support) does not entalle the same place on the PC and uses a different caching
this work also if you want to separate the RLV and non RLV use of FS  in that case of course you have to choose wich install is on SL and wich one is on opensim

Due to problems with the 64-bit libraries there is no 64-bit Firestorm for Linux at this time.

Hi Shy,

Firestorm 4.6.7 OS is available for 32 and 64 Bits whereas 4.6.9 is not. The tool chain for compiling the viewer was brought to a more recent state thus breaking some dependencies for some libraries. I hope they got that sorted out as there will be a new FS-release soon.

The Download-Link for FS 4.6.7 OS Linux x86_64 is here: http://wiki.phoenixviewer.com/fs_older_downloads.

Let's hope it still works ;)

((At least this explains why I was unable to build FS on a 64-bit Linux box recently.))
